The future of competitive cheerleading
History
Smart Cheer was founded back in 2016 by our Head Coach Ben Barnard. This was a dream he had envisioned since 2003, until his dream became a reality. It all started with weekly tumble classes. Then there came a point where Ben’s tumble classes became so popular that the opportunity for a competing team arose. Since then, the team has continued to blossom and grow.
Smart Cheer is now very proud to have over 50 cheerleaders ranging from our 5 year olds just starting out, to our experienced cheerleaders in their mid 20s. We are open to all ages, abilities and genders.
Our Mission
It is our aim to change the misconceptions of Cheerleading in the modern world. We want our cheerleaders to feel proud and encourage others to feel good about themselves and be passionate about their hobbies
We want to put a stop to the bullying of cheerleaders, mainly male cheerleaders, by showing people how strong and disciplined cheerleaders are. It’s our goal to change the opinions of many as well as prove that Cheerleading is tough, competitive sport that requires years of dedicated and committed training.
Our cheerleaders want to be taken seriously and for people to see how much effort and passion they put into creating winning teams and champion athletes.
Our Vision
We see ourselves as becoming a successful, competitive cheerleading program with cheerleaders of all abilities, ages and genders. We see a future where cheerleading is taken seriously as a sport and our athletes are proud of who they are and proud to be part of this team.
